The Best Schools in Norfolk

Finding your ideal property within the catchment area of good schools can be a tricky task. Especially, in the countryside where some towns and villages have limited choice when it comes to schooling your children. On the other hand, Norfolk has a number of excellent schools with many more good schools. With so many to choose from, we thought we’d used our local knowledge of Norfolk and previous Ofsted results to bring you the best Norfolk schools.

Primary Schools

Trowse Primary School – Located just out of the city of Norwich in the village of Trowse Newton, Trowse Primary School is regarded as a great local school by both the local community and by Ofsted, who graded it Outstanding in its latest report.

Hethersett Woodside Infant and Nursery School – Perfect for younger children either attending Nursery or up to the end of Year 2. This school is located in the village of Hethersett and educates the local children. It has some great facilities and important aims and values, which as a result have granted it a grade of Outstanding from Ofsted.

Blofield Primary School – In the small village of Blofield, not far from Norwich is the fantastic Blofield Primary School. Graded Outstanding by Ofsted, this Primary School offers great facilities and opportunities for its pupils. With its strengths being its sports, music and modern foreign language classes.

Secondary Schools

Wymondham College – Wymondham College is the largest state boarding school in the country and its students have seen much success during their time at the school and the years after. The school offers a wide range of facilities and subjects for the students in both the main school and the Sixth Form. Wymondham College was awarded a rating of Outstanding on its latest report, as well as having 89 percent of GCSE students achieving a grade C or above in English and Maths last year.

Hethersett Academy – Another Hethersett school which has made our list is Hethersett Academy. Not only was this school rated Outstanding by Ofsted in their latest report, but it’s also one of the best performing schools in the county with 85 per cent of GCSE students achieving grade C or better in English and Maths last year. As well as this Hethersett Academy also has a strong focus on sport and the arts.

Notre Dame High School – The last school on our list is Norwich’s Notre Dame High. This Catholic high school and sixth form have approximately 1,400 students in total, with many attending from all over the Norfolk. The school has received plenty of high praise from the community and also from previous Ofsted reports, where it has been rated as Outstanding. Its students have also seen much success, with 81 percent of GCSE students achieving a grade C or above in English and Maths last year.
